Is the choker look just a fad, or is it here to last? TBT to the 90’s plastic rainbow chokers we all used to wear as kids… Our moms do say that fashion trends always return!
Either way, S&J are huge fans of throwing on a chokers to add just the right amount of sass to any fall look. Here are our current favorite chokers on the market, separated by sweeter looks for the conservative and bolder looks for the more daring.
FOR THE CONSERVATIVE
This double wrap AreYouAmI choker has been spotted on celebs like Bella Hadid to Kendall Jenner. It’s subtle but still makes a statement. You could wear it like Kendall is in the photo above, or flip it around so that the bow is front and center depending on your outfit.
This Frasier Jewelry Star Crossed Lovers Custom Choker is a must have! You can either customize it to say your name as featured in the above slideshow, or you could get matching BFF chokers. These are on S&J’s wish list for sure.
Check out another Frasier Sterling choker: The Heart of Glass Choker worn as seen on Bella Hadid (pictured above) and Sofia Richie.
This Mesh Choker from Nasty Gal is just the right amount of subtle and chic to perfect any outfit for a night out.
FOR THE DARING
Fraiser Sterling’s fall looks are a huge inspiration for this post! Show off your sweet side like @BaskinChamp in this adorable fuzzy pink choker. It even comes in several different colors, which can be purchased online through Nasty Gal, Revolve Clothing or Frasier Sterling Jewelry.
For those of you who love layering as much as us, you’ll definitely be a fan of this AreYouAmI Dassa Wrap Chain Choker. It’s definitely a statement piece, but with a simple outfit, it can do wonders.
This elegant grey Regal Rose Gloria Velvet Corset Choker is inspired by the Baroque era in Europe and can be worn with the lace up at the front or back of the neck. S&J recommend the lace in the front for a low cut dress/top and the lace in the back for an open back dress/top.
Last but not least, our favorite maroon BreeLayne Velvet Choker from Revolve Clothing! We suggest pairing it with jeans and a simple top. Its maroon color and velvety texture will add the perfect amount of flair to dress up a more casual jeans look.
This 90’s fashion staple was bound to come back, and quite honestly even better than before. Chokers have been around for thousands of years, dating back to the Egyptian times and Western cultures during the French Revolution. For those of you who have been living in your skinny jeans these past few years, don’t worry – those are here to stay; but another oldie is about to add some flare into your wardrobe. You guessed it, the flared jeans! 90’s fashion is coming in hot and we have a feeling these aren’t the only two fashion pieces we’ll be seeing from that era this season. S&J adore the choker’s comeback, adding a contemporary style to an punk rock accessory!
