NYC Top 5: Healthy Spots

We’re bringing back our “Top 5” segment, originally introduced with Shir’s Top 5 Tel Aviv recommendations. Today, we’re talking about our Top 5 favorite healthy spots in NYC:

west~bourne

Perfect for a weekend brunch with friends, west~bourne is a pretty new spot located in SoHo. The last time Shir and Jamie went with friends, we ordered almost one of everything from the menu and split between everyone! Although you can’t go wrong with any of their meals, we highly recommend their Sweet Potato Smash and The Trails sandwich.

Le Botaniste

If you’re vegan, or just love a plant-based diet like Shir + Jamie, this is your spot! With two locations in Manhattan, Le Botaniste serves delicious, organic food and wine, and all out of adorable Le Creuset cookware. We suggest going with friends and splitting several of their items – it’s all too good to just choose one!

Hu Kitchen

You’ve probably already seen their delicious chocolate bars at your local Whole Foods… well, this is where they originated! Hu Kitchen is your all-in-one coffee bar, restaurant and mini health food market. They serve a variety of quality eats including everything from smoothies, vegetable-based sides, healthy desserts and snacks to go!

P.S. Jamie’s favorite sweet treat are their Almond Butter Cookie Dough Truffles.

Dez

Dez is your fast-casual Mediterranean spot located in SoHo. This is your place for a quick but healthy lunch with Instagram-worthy vibes. We just checked this fairly new restaurant out when Shir was in NYC last month and we loved the Seeds + Veg salad.

Fun fact – this new spot was Co-Founded by one of the founders of by CHLOE. (and if you haven’t been there, add it to your list, too!)

Cafe Clover

Last, but certainly not least… Jamie’s favorite restaurant in New York! Cafe Clover offers a seasonal menu of farm-to-table style food. The interior design at this spot is also on point – think Parisian cafe meets West Village. Cafe Clover is a great place for birthdays, dinner with your parents, or a girl’s night out.

You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but Shir + Jamie adore their Chickpea Flour Hushpuppies, Chicken Paillard, and Organic Vegetable Garden salad. For brunch, we suggest their Poached Farm Eggs, Avocado Toast and Chopped Salad.
