Shir’s Big Move to Tel Aviv

Shir’s Big Move to Tel Aviv

As you all know, Jamie and I just graduated from UF, but we’re both in graduate school now and one step closer to being working adults in the real world! Less than a week ago, I moved to Tel Aviv, Israel for six months to complete my Master’s in International Business. I started my masters degree in undergrad at UF in a combined program and I’m fortunate enough to be able to participate in this exchange program.

Am I Nervous?

Not really.Β I consider Israel my second home; my parents are both from there and my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and most of my cousins live there as well. On top of that, my best friends and I are all living by each other in downtown Tel Aviv. So, I’m pretty lucky to know so many people in Israel because I’m able to go to any relatives’ homes if I ever need a getaway.

What Will I be Doing There?

I will be studying at Tel Aviv University a few times a week, working on the blog OF COURSE, and making as many connections as I can. There aren’t as many bloggers in TLV as there are in NYC and MIA, so I’m excited to introduce NOT UR AVG to the Israel scene. Europe is so close to Israel, I’ll also be making a few trips there πŸ˜‰

What Does One Pack for a Six-Month-Long Move?

Everything!Β The past couple of weeks, I’ve been doing some major cleaning and throwing out almost everything I’m not taking with me to Israel. Realistically, whatever I won’t use in those six months, I’ll probably never use again. But, I am stocking up on cosmetic products that I know I won’t be able to find in TLV. I purchased a lot of Clinique facial products, makeup by my favorite brands, and TONS of packs of my daily contacts. Most cosmetic products sell for double the price in Israel, especially if they’re American products, so I’m just thinking ahead.

What Will Happen to NOT UR AVG for Those Six Months?

It will be running just as smoothly as it does now! We have a lot of exciting things coming your way and can’t wait to share them all with you. We’ve been preparing for this “separation” for a while now and we’re ready to go! πŸ™‚ To make things even more exciting, Jamie will be visiting me in January so we will have a ton of content from that!

We’re so excited to share these exciting months ahead with you! Tel Aviv is such an amazing city and we’ll have tons of recommendations for you soon enough πŸ˜‰
