Weekend Guide to Nashville

This week we’re bringing you our recap on our weekend spent in Nashville, Tennessee! It’s a University tradition to road trip to a Gators game each fall semester. Keep scrolling to get an insight on what a college Roadtrip actually is… Here’s a hint: It consists of a lot of “wining” and dining.

Although there are countless bars and restaurants that your friends tell you that you “have to go to” while in Music City, below are S&J’s faves – and trust us, we only rate venues that we highly recommend!

ACME Feed & Seed: If you’re looking for fine-dining at an urban restaurant with that unique “Nashville atmosphere” this is the place to go. With a live band performing on the first floor and a rooftop bar to enjoy a nice cocktail, this venue attracts all age groups. The three stories at ACME still isn’t enough space to fit all of its customers – that’s when you know it’s good!

This delicious dish was called The Hatchery. It consists of curried chickpeas, coconut rice, cashews, a sunny side up egg, and a side of Nashville’s fry bread. After that description and the photo above, we don’t think we need to do any more convincing on this one!

☆ Valentine’s Rooftop Bar: If you want to feel like you’re on a rooftop of Manhattan for the night, try this place out! The different levels of the bar underneath surely do not live up to the fabulous rooftop atmosphere and views. A night out is made even better when there is a DJ playing here!

Jamie is seen above at Valentine’s wearing the Brandy Melville Anya Top. For all of you college girls on a budget this is the cheaper alternative to the Areyouami Minka Top that you’ve seen every celeb wearing recently.

Honky Tonk: Although this bar’s drinks were way too overpriced (we’re talking $18 for a Vodka Soda double of lower quality liquour!), the atmosphere from the balcony was surely worth purchasing a drink, or two! This was the spot for our friends to hang out at over the weekend. It had three stories with live music on each floor and several large balconies to get that perfect pic overlooking Broadway.

TavernM Street’s cool-casual “gastro-pub” with a bar consisting of an extensive list of cocktails, wines, liquors, and beers. Unfortunately, S&J didn’t have a chance to make a pit stop at this restaurant, but a few of our friends did and this is what they said:

“The two-for-one brunch drink specials were exactly what we didn’t need… but drank anyway. A few drinks in, eggs Benedict, and a blueberry waffle with compote, I had to be forklifted out of there!” -Harley

“Tavern is probably one of my favorite brunch places. I had the Kaya toast and it was sweet, salty, and savory all at once. For those of you that cant decide between sweet or salty, I would definitely recommend this!” -Rachel

Every year, Roadtrip is, to say the least, a hectic weekend with over 1,000 UF students invading another city. Nashville was beautiful and it truly stuck to its title as “Music City”. Every restaurant and bar had live music performance – and not just some new boy band, we’re talking professional and seriously talented musicians! Below are a couple of photos from the weekend, which was quite honestly a bit of a blur. #college
